Starting September 4, 2018, following EIOPA's supervisory committee's decision, Xavier Larnaudie-Eiffel, CNP ASSURANCES's Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, will become member of the (Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group - IRSG) of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). Within this advisory team, composed by representatives of the insurance and reinsurance industry, comsumers and researchers, Xavier Larnaudie-Eiffel will be involved in the development of regulatory rules, as well as financial supervision rules and standards in the insurance sector.
Xavier Larnaudie-Eiffel is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Bordeaux and Ecole Nationale d'Administration (1982). He served as a senior civil servant until 1986 and then held various positions on matters related to Europe and international monetary affairs, as a member of France's Ministry of Economy, up to 1993. In 1994 he was appointed junior director of the Ministry's insurance department, where his main responsibility was the insurance industry's regulation and supervision. From 1995 up to 2000, Xavier Larnaudie-Eiffel acted as a Principal Private Secretary for the European Commissioner for economy and monetary affairs, thus devoted his time on preparing the introduction of the euro. In March 2000, he became Vice Chairman of Solving International, with specific responsibility for the financial services and banking industry in Europe and Brazil. He is a member of the CNP ASSURANCES Executive Board since 2003 and Deputy Chief Executive Officer since July 10, 2007. In Cyprus, he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNP CYPRUS INSURANCE HOLDINGS. Xavier Larnaudie-Eiffel is the chairman of the committee of european insurance companies (Brussels) and the life insurance committee of the French Federation of Insurance Companies (FFA).
